Announcement: DOH, lost a few recent posts and pictures
Posted: Erik Ness @ Mon Dec 26, 2005 12:28 pm
I recently moved our site to a much more robust Dual Xeon web server. I was transferring several dozen other websites that we host at the same time and the database transfer failed for this site. I removed the up to date site off the older server before realizing the error and had to restore the database from a backup about 2 months old. Therefore, we lost a couple posts and a few pictures. I apologize and would love it if those of you that are missing images could re-upload them.

Thanks,
Erik Ness

Subject: My First Marathon

Dear Friends and Family,
This may surprise you, but I am training for the 2005 Honolulu Marathon which will take place on December 11, 2005. That's right - it's an actual marathon - 26.2 miles. It's my first one, and hopefully not my last (see you in Boston in April and NYC in November!)......From June until December I'll be logging nearly 500 miles in this six-month training program which is raising money for the fight to end AIDS. It's an exciting journey. And even though I'll be getting up at the crack of dawn (most of you know that's not a struggle for me) and I may have my share of aches and pains, I know it will be worth it.

Regrettably, Los Angeles has the second highest number of people living with AIDS in the United States. So ...

Announcement: Help Support Richard Holmgren on May 21st!
Posted: Erik Ness @ Sun Mar 20, 2005 1:10 am
Richard Holmgren will be riding 90 miles in support of the intellectually challenged on Monday. If you could, please help the cause and donate anything you can in support of him.

The main website is here where you can search for Richard: www.hpchallenge.org

I have generated a "TinyURL" so that you may be taken directly to Richard's personal donation page here:
http://tinyurl.com/3opg3

Please help him out if you can!

Thanks,
Erik Ness
Admin @ Ness/Holmgren Family Website

PS
I will take this opportunity for a plug on my latest project. If you know anyone who's family would like to have their own family website, please direct them to www.FamSites.com . For a small monthly fee I can set them up with their own site, much like ours. Thanks!

Announcement: Photo Gallery Upgrade
Posted: Erik Ness @ Mon Oct 25, 2004 9:17 pm
I updated "PhotoPost", the image gallery script today. The upgrade went without a hitch and nothing was lost which is always a good thing. Smile
There are several reasons for the upgrade.

You should notice it looks a little different now. There are new Sidebar blocks with some info as well as some new info blocks about most recent comments and such at the bottom of the main page. Also, the updated scripts better integrate the look and feel of the whole site (text colors and stuff like that match much better now). Most might not notice but I do...haha. The second main reason you will not see just yet. Members with photo upload access (all Family Members) will soon have the option to create your own "Personal Albums". You can use this feature to organize your photos any way you like. So you could create a Christmas album and place all the holiday photos in that album or specific albums for each child or family group....you get the idea. This is not implemented yet as I have ...
